Another Broadening Opportunity for Warrants

The Army is looking to fill 108 seats in the School of Advanced Miliary Studies (SAMS) Advanced Military Studies Program (AMSP) for the resident course that begins in June 2016.  According to the website SAMS is:

…a graduate-level education program of the School of Advanced Military Studies (SAMS). The vision for AMSP is to develop effective planners who help senior leaders understand the operational environment and then visualize and describe viable solutions to operational problems. Graduates of the AMSP:

  • Are critical and creative thinkers grounded in operational theory, doctrine, and history
  • Can identify problems and propose viable solutions
  • Can clearly communicate to various audiences orally, graphically, and in writing
  • Are good leaders and great teammates who collaborate effectively to get the job done
  • Have the courage to lead from above, beside, and below
  • Are physically and mentally tough
  • Are humble professionals who are more than they seem

For warrants, it is open to warrants who have completed the Warrant Officer Staff Course and have an undergraduate degree.  The application window is open from 6 Aug – 8 Sep.  The board will meet from 2-6 Nov and the results released O/A 16 Dec.  You will incur a two-year ADSO from the completion of the course.  If you’re interested in more information, check out MILPER message 15-237.
