Continuing on with some write-ups from the Hack the Box Cyber Apocalypse 2024 event. This one wasn’t particularly difficult, but it was a pain and time consuming. I went through this process manually but one of these days I’ll have to see if I can find a way to script it out and make it appear faster.

As the holidays come to an end, I have completed (well not finished, but been working on while I had free time) Advent of Code. I’ve talked about this in years past, but the short of it is 25 days of coding problems. Day 7 has to do with playing a game of Camel Cards.
So since we’ve had a little bit of free time lately, I’ve been doing some python scripting. The other day I decided to go back to Advent of Code and work on it a little bit more.
Day 3 (only 62 days late) of Advent of Code was a huge pain in the ass but a lot of fun.

Back in November I had the chance to attend the Splunk .conf conference here in DC. One of the big after hours events of the conference is the Boss of the SOC (BOTS) competition that puts teams against each other to try and analyze a set of data to identify a variety of indicators of compromise from an incident. After a little bit of talking, Splunk decided to release the BOTS app as an open-source project.
